What are the Sunday services like?

Our Sunday services consist primarily of prayer, congregational singing and teaching.  On the first Sunday of each month we also have a time of communion.

Our 9:30 and 11:15 services are identical in content.  To hear a past sermon, please visit our sermon page.  To see a past order of service please click here and select a worship set.

Given the rich diversity of our congregation, musically you will hear contemporary choruses, treasured hymns, original music and even bluegrass.  For more information about our worship ministry, please visit our worship page.

It is our goal... that the Word of God be central and presented clearly in our sermons as well as in our singing, so that our services exalt Jesus and edify and encourage His people.

What about my children?

While your children are always welcome to attend the service with you, our large Children's ministry is committed to providing quality childcare and Biblical education for your children.

Our nursery and GrowZone [preschool Sunday School] is provided all year long.  Our FISHing crew [grades 1 - 5 Sunday School] meets every Sunday throughout the school year, as do our middle school and high school Sunday School programs.

Every child's safety is of utmost importance to us.  Each staff member and volunteer who deals with children or youth is required to take our Child Protection Training class and submit to a background check.

It is our goal... to welcome all children into a church family where they are loved, enjoyed and shown the way to a personal relationship with Jesus.

What do you have for middle school and high school students?

Every Sunday morning throughout the school year middle school and high school Sunday school is held during the 11:15 service.  Our High School youth group, CROSSFIRE, and our Middle School youth group, CROSSWALK, both meet Wednesday evenings throughout the school year.  Crossfire meets from 6:30 to 8:30pm and Crosswalk meets from 6:30 to 8:00pm.

What does the church believe?

Please see our Statement of Faith and Core Commitments.

Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in anyway?

If you are visiting we won't ask you to give a dime when we pass the offering plate.  We won't make you wear a visitor badge or stand up to be introduced.  You are free to remain as anonymous as you want to, but we encourage you to stop by the Information Desk in the foyer to pick up a gift bag containing more information about congregational life at WBC.

How do I get to church?

All services and events are held at 1651 W. Nicola Avenue unless otherwise stated.  Travel down the Parks Highway west of Main Street in Wasilla.  You will see Spenard Builders Supply to the south and Burchell High School on the north.  Turn North on Deskas Street ~ just west of Burchell High School.  Once you have turned onto Deskas you will see Wasilla Bible Church on the hill.  See Map

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in.  People wear everything from business casual to jeans and flannel.

How do I meet others in the church?

Our Adult Ministries provide numerous Bible Studies, Sunday School classes, men's and women's studies and recreational activities.

You may also want to talk to our Adult Ministries Pastor John Doak about joining one of our home groups.  These small groups allow adults to build relationships centered around Christ and His work in their lives.

What is the history of Wasilla Bible Church?

During the fall of 1976 a number of families at Lazy Mountain Bible Church felt the need for a non-denominational church in the growing Big Lake/Wasilla area.  Throughout the following winter they sought God's leading and provision for the beginning of such a church.  On May 1, 1977 Wasilla Bible Church met for the first time in the Wasilla Children's House with 37 people.  In August of 1978 Larry Kroon arrived to be the pastor.

In 1979 the church building at 1701 N. Lucille was completed, accommodating 250 people.  A second story was added to the site in 1984 and a sanctuary was added in 1996.

God has blessed us and we have continued to grow.  Over the last 5 years the Elder Board and several committees have studied our ever-increasing need for space.  In 2003 a 20 acre lot on Nicola Avenue was purchase and in May 2005 work began on our new facility.  Our first service in this facility was held October 1, 2006.  The new Family Life Center, our lower level, was completed during the summer of 2007 with an open house held September 9th.
