Psalm 148

Psalms 146-150 all begin and end with the "Praise the LORD" (in Hebrew "Hallelujah"). Psalm 148 calls all creatures to join in praising the LORD.

To sing this psalm we used the first stanza of the hymn "Praise the Lord! Ye Heavens Adore Him" (Foundling Hospital Collection, 1796, alt.) with two stanzas from the The Psalter (1912, alt). The melody is by Franz Joseph Haydn (1797 "Austrian Hymn").
