During a transatlantic voyage in 1873, Horatio Spafford lost his 4 daughters in a shipwreck. After their deaths, he penned this poem which was later turned into the hymn we know and love today. It’s a song I sang to myself, a lot, while Joel was going through leukemia treatment.
