Put Away Your Idols

Today’s passage provides a culmination of Jacob’s life and struggle with God up to this point. Jacob has seen and experienced God's faithfulness. In response, Jacob calls His household to put away their gods as they prepare to meet with the One, True God. Likewise, on the first Sunday of the Advent season, this passage can call us to respond to God's faithfulness in Jesus by putting away any idols to which we may be clinging.
