Gratitude can be expressed in all circumstances, from quiet reflection to joyful celebration, and this pairing of pieces expresses two very different expressions of gratitude. The first, for solo marimba, is from a Japanese film expressing gratitude for friendship in times of personal struggle, and the second, for marimba and oboe, is inspired by the rhythms of Irish dance.—Tyler and Naomi
