Psalm 29 (Glory)

Psalm 29 begins by calling the heavenly host to ascribe glory to the LORD. By verse 9, everyone in the temple is crying out together, “Glory!” Throughout Scripture, glory is a word that is used to describe God’s power, majesty, and splendor. All three of these words appear in Psalm 29. As David describes the God of glory, he focuses on the voice of the LORD. The final verse of this song points to the wondrous reality that the voice of the LORD became flesh in the person of Christ Jesus. In him we see the glory of God manifest (John 1:14, 2 Corinthians 4:6).

This setting of Psalm 29 was written by Joel Stamoolis in 2023 for an Arts for the Kingdom event on the theme of glory.
