Come Kingdom Come

I’d been thinking about the “New Creation” theme ever since it was announced, but the only thing coming to mind was altering lyrics to a secular song. Finally, around 4 AM Sunday, April 24 I saw a video where it sounded like the singer included the words “dust to dust” (though I couldn’t quite hear that for sure). However, I liked this idea of tying the concept of living from dust to dust into the expectation of a new creation. So, I wrote some poetry that could be put to music. It wasn’t until around 2:30 AM Friday, April 29 that I came up with a melody to go with the lyrics.

“All go to the same place. All came from the dust and all return to the dust.” Ecclesiastes 3:20

“…then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecclesiastes 12:7

“Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life.” Daniel 12:2
