Psalm 34

Beginning with the inscription "Of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away", Psalm 34 is not, as one might expect, a description of David's cunning escape strategy. Rather it is a humble and resounding testimony of God's deliverance, calling others to likewise fear and take refuge in the LORD.

To sing Psalm 34 we set lyrics from Sing Psalms (©2003 Free Church of Scotland) to the traditional German hymn melody "Ellacombe" (used for many English hymns, such as "I Sing the Mighty Power of God" and Hosanna, Loud Hosanna").

This recording features Will Shelton and Naomi Stamoolis on vocals, Joel Stamoolis on vocals and bass, Sean Tracy on guitar, Maggie Chapman on flute, Tanya Galloway on piano, and Igor Galloway on drums.
