From Allison: Carolina Wilhelmina Sandell Berg, a Swedish hymn writer, wrote the text to “Day by Day” in 1865. In this hymn, she paints a beautiful picture of God’s loving discipleship, expressing trust in following the Lord as He meets our needs daily. In 1872, Oscar Ahnfelt, a Swedish singer and composer, set her text to music. Wayne Fritchie, an American composer, arranged the hymn for wind quintet in 2024.
